What we hold, and how long for
Two things a co-op board asks before it signs anything: what happens to the children’s information, and when does it go away. Both are answered on this page, and the privacy notice links to it.
Children’s information
GatherBee does not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. Children do not have logins and do not submit anything to GatherBee: a student is a profile that a parent or a co-op administrator enters, and a login can only ever be attached to a profile from 13 years old.
A co-op warrants that it holds the rights to enter the information it enters. Parents are given direct notice of what is held about their children, and may review or delete it — by asking us directly, whether or not their co-op is involved.
Nothing about a child is visible outside their own co-op, and no page that shows a student’s information loads third-party analytics or advertising code.
Retention schedule
Each category of record is deleted after the period below. The clock is stated for each one, because “when does it start” is the part that usually goes unsaid.
